Organic Certification
The SWISS WATER® Process is certified organic by the Organic Crop Improvement Association, the world's largest organic certification agency, in accordance with standards developed by the National Organic Program. The decaffeination facility itself must conform to the OCIA's rigorous standards. The organic integrity of our operation ensures organic coffee beans are decaffeinated using the SWISS WATER® Process maintain their organic certification.
Fair Trade Certified™
We offer a variety of Fair Trade Certified™ decaffeinated coffees. Fair Trade connects farmers, businesses, and consumers in sustainable and meaningful ways. Fair Trade principles are to provide a fair price, fair labor conditions, direct trade, democratic and transparent organizations, community development and environmental sustainability.
Rainforest Alliance Certification
We decaffeinate coffee that is Rainforest Alliance Certified. This guides and rewards continual improvements on farms, linking sustainable farm management with coffee quality - connecting responsible producers and traders with innovative companies and better markets. The seal ensures that forests, rivers, soils and wildlife are conserved and that workers and their families are respected, paid decent wages, and have access to education and medical care.
Kosher Certification
SWISS WATER® Process meets the strictest standards of kosher law – Kashrus. We are certified Kosher by the Orthodox Rabbinical Council of British Columbia.
HMA Halal Certification
The SWISS WATER® Process is certified Halal by the Halal Monitoring Authority, a department of the Canadian Council of Muslim Theologians. The HMA serves the Muslim community by ensuring that Islamically suitable foods are appropriately identified.
UTZ CERTIFIED
We decaffeinated coffee that is UTZ CERTIFIED. UTZ has many requirements of its coffee growers and in return helps ensure farmers get the resources they need. Certified producers train employees on health and safety procedures and the correct use of pesticides, emergency procedures, UTZ helps implement proper record keeping, encourages the use of sustainable energy sources. Agrochemicals are used responsibly and certified producers protect trees and prevent soil erosion – all leading to more sustainable farms.
